B's Named Team of the Year by SBJ

NEW YORK, NY – The SportsBusiness Journal held their 5th annual 2012 Sports Business Awards on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square in New York City to celebrate excellence in sports business. The Boston Bruins were presented with the Sports Team of the Year Award for their excellence and outstanding achievements for the time period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012.

Each year, the award honors one sports franchise based on an evaluation of “excellence, growth, creativity, innovation, sound planning, implementation and outcomes.” A panel of editors, writers and researchers from the SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily judged entries.

The Boston Bruins were acknowledged for their 2011 Stanley Cup Championship title, as well as their involvement in numerous charitable contributions to the Greater Boston community.
