Hitting the Road for Carolina…

The Bruins held about an hour long practice today, prior to getting back on the road for Raleigh, NC to faceoff against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

All of the Bruins except Adam McQuaid were on the ice today, with lines the same as usual. Coach Julien said McQuaid was not absent due to injury, but that he will not be in Carolina for the game. Instead, Aaron Johnson is expected to be in the lineup.

The Hurricanes had the B’s numbers last season and hopefully some reverse superstition can work for this year.

The Carolina Hurricanes swept the Bruins in the season series last year for the first time in the history between these teams (including when the Hurricanes franchise was in Hartford). Carolina had one previous four-game win streak against Boston, but that one overlapped seasons. If the Hurricanes win on Monday, the five-game win streak will be their longest ever against the Bruins, who were 11-2-0 against Carolina heading into last season.

"I think the biggest thing is just get a good start, starting on the road," Tuukka Rask told media following practice at Ristuccia, on Monday’s first game of a back-to-back.

"Carolina’s given us some trouble in the past. We’re 0-1 on the road, so we’re trying to get that good road game and then start off the right foot."

With three games in four days, Coach Julien expects that Anton Khudobin will get in some playing time.

"I’m sure he’ll see some action at some point. With these amount of game, you’re going to have to utilize both goaltenders," Coach said before hitting the road for Carolina.

"We want him to get some action at some point, as well. It’s important for Tuukka to get some rest, but for Anton to stay sharp, as well."

Another Bruin trying to stay sharp is Dennis Seidenerg, who was back in the lineup Saturday after a lower body injury.

"It was okay," he said on how he felt in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Islanders. "It took me a little bit to get my feet underneath me, but once that happened I think I felt good - like always."

See you down the coast!
