Rask Visits Franciscan Hospital

BRIGHTON, MA The Tuukka Tour came to an end on Thursday afternoon and with four recent community trips under his belt, yesterday marked Tuukka Rask’s fifth and final stop - a visit to the Franciscan Hospital For Children in Brighton.

However, it certainly wasn’t Rask’s first time to visit the hospital. Deanna Dwyer, Director of Marketing at Franciscan Hospital for Children, recalled past trips from Rask and the B’s – those memories exciting her for new ones to come.

“He’s been here before when we’ve had our holidays visit,” said Dwyer. “The Bruins always come and visit with some of the patients and students at the hospital.”

Rask Visited Children's Hospital

BOSTON, MA – After making a trip to Engine 7 Wednesday, Boston Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask headed to the Children’s Hospital Boston on Thursday afternoon.

Getting in the holiday sprit, the Savonlinna, Finland, native held off on the Black & Gold and instead opted for his Bruins Saint Patrick’s Day jersey. Along with that, he sported a green leprechaun hat – complete with a faux beard – to be possibly the tallest leprechaun anyone has ever seen at 6-foot-3.

Starting off the visit, Rask met up with current pediatric patients in the hospital’s playroom where they welcomed him with a table full of arts and crafts.

Lucic Punches PJ Drive into Gear

WATERTOWN, MA — Bruins forward Milan Lucic took the lead in helping to kick-off the Fifth Annual PJ Drive by visiting Target on Thursday in Watertown, for a meet-and-greet with Bruins fans.

Teaming up with Cradles to Crayons and AT&T, Bruins fans, families, schools and corporations are encouraged to donate new, unused pajamas for underprivileged children statewide throughout the month of February.

“What we try to do in a thing like this is get the fans involved doing something fun and giving back to the community as well,” said Lucic.  “It goes hand and hand.”

B's Excited to Return to Casino Night – The Boston Bruins Foundation will host the second “Boston Bruins Casino Night” on Sunday, February 12 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The State Room (60 State Street, Boston, MA 02109).

Bruins fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to play Craps, Double Roulette, Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, and Wheel of Fortune with their favorite Bruins players on the 2011 –12 roster.

Rolling the dice, spinning the wheel, and racking up the chips is definitely something fans don’t get to do often with the Bruins, and the players enjoy that special interaction.

Prospect Report: Miller — Now in his first full season with Providence, defenseman Kevan Miller is very much enjoying his time with the P-Bruins.

“The coaches are great, the guys are great,” he said. “I don’t think I could ask for a better spot.

"I’ve been pretty fortunate – they’ve helped me learn a lot.”

Prospect Report: Cunningham – With 41 games under his belt in Providence, Craig Cunningham is well into his first professional season in Black & Gold.

However, like any first year player, Cunningham is dealing with the new realities that come with progressing from junior hockey to the AHL.

“I didn‟t realize how tough the league really is and how tight it is,” said Cunningham , selected by the Boston Bruins as a 97th pick overall in the 2010 NHL entry draft. “It takes a bit of time to adjust, but slowly I am adjusting and trying to get better each day.”
