To a room filled with members of the media, GM Peter Chiarelli professed that the Bruins had no hesitation in signing Coach Julien to the new contract and committing to keeping him behind the bench of a B’s squad that includes the nucleus of the 2011 Cup team.
Julien echoed this sentiment in his own opening statement to the press, making known his commitment to the Bruins and the Hub of Hockey.
“I’m extremely happy to remain here in Boston,” he said. “Love the organization, love the city.”
“When I first came here, my goal was to try and win a Stanley Cup here in Boston. We’ve accomplished that. Now my goal is to win another Cup for this Boston franchise.”
