Boston, MA - Interesting couple of days in Boston with “Blizzard 2013”- hope everyone is staying safe and warm out there…
After Saturday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning was moved back to 7 p.m. and then postponed to a later date (TBA) due to the weather State of Emergency still in effect in Boston, the B’s are flying to Buffalo tonight in preparation for Sunday’s faceoff against the Sabres. As said in the press release sent out by the NHL today announcing the postponed game, “although both clubs and the assigned on-ice officials are in Boston, travel conditions remain too hazardous for fans, security personnel and TD Garden staff to get to the arena.”
Earlier today, the Bruins had not planned to hold a morning skate, while the Lightning did hit the ice at TD Garden. We stopped in the locker room to get the Bolts’ take on facing the Bruins, since the game had yet to be postponed.
One familiar face was that of Benoit Pouliot, now with Tampa Bay. The forward spoke highly of his time with Boston and the great group of guys in the locker room.
“It’s such a good team, they’re always together, all the guys get along with each other and it’s always nice to see that, not only the on the ice but off the ice, the guys are great.”
“It was just an awesome time the year I was here [in Boston]. To see they won the Cup the year before and how they did it, I think coming into this team, I didn’t know what to expect, but they brought me in here and it was perfect, just the way I thought it would be.”
Sunday night, the B’s will be facing off against a Sabres team that will have a back-to-back after playing the New York Islanders tonight on the Isle.
