Khokhlachev, Russia Earn the Bronze — Boston Bruins prospects were again on both sides of the action during Saturday’s bronze medal game at the IIHF World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia.

Forward Anthony Camara, defenseman Dougie Hamilton and goaltender Malcolm Subban's Team Canada faced forward Alexander Khokhlachev's Russian team for third place.

P-Bruins Sink Pirates, 3-2 - The Providence Bruins (17-12-0-2) defeated the Portland Pirates (19-12-1-1) by a score of 3-2 Friday evening at The Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Chris Bourque continued his hot-streak, tallying his sixth goal in as many games as well as an assist, building upon his team lead in points with 27. Ryan Spooner contributed to the scoring sheet, adding two assists of his own. Trent Whitfield provided the heroics, tallying the game-winner in the final minutes of regulation.

World Juniors Update: Dec. 31 — There were Black & Gold prospects on either side of the highly anticipated Canada versus Russia game at the World Junior Championships on New Year’s Eve in Ufa, Russia.

Team Canada forward Anthony Camara, defenseman Dougie Hamilton and goaltender Malcolm Subban faced off against Alexander Khokhlachev's Russian squad as the top junior-aged players in from both countries vied for first place in the tournament's Group B, a bye in the first round of the Playoff Round (and Boston Bruins Development Camp bragging rights).

P-Bruins Fall to Sharks — The Providence Bruins fell to the Worcester Sharks 3-2 Saturday evening at The DCU Center. Michael Hutchinson posted 27 saves and Chris Bourque and Justin Florek scored as Providence’s win streak was snapped at two.

World Juniors Update: Dec. 29 — With undefeated (2-0) Team Canada idle, and with Anthony Camara (2 GP, 0-1-1), Dougie Hamilton (2 GP, 0-1-1) and Malcolm Subban (2GP, 2-0, 3.00 GAA, .892 SV%) enjoying the day off, the only B’s prospect in action on Saturday at Ufa, Russia’s World Junior Championship was Alexander Khokhlachev.

Bruins Defeat Phantoms, 4-2 — The Providence Bruins defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 4-2 Friday evening at The Glens Falls Civic Center and improved to 16-10-0-2 on the season. Niklas Svedberg posted 43 saves, notching his 12th win of the season. Jordan Caron had the game-winning goal to extend the Providence win streak to a pair and stop the Phantoms’ three-game win streak.

World Juniors Update: Dec. 28 – Bruins prospects had two games on the docket for Friday, December 28, with Canada facing off against Slovakia and the host country Russia playing the U.S.

Team USA is now without a B’s prospect, as defenseman Matt Grzelcyk did not make the final roster.

P-Bruins 3, Whale 1 — The Providence Bruins defeated the Connecticut Whale 3-1 on Saturday evening in Hartford’s XL Center to improve to 15-10-0-2 on the season. Michael Hutchinson posted 24 saves, notching his fifth win of the season. Jamie Tardif, Chris Bourque and Christian Hanson scored for the Bruins.

Worcester Tops Providence, 5-4 — The Providence Bruins fell to the Worcester Sharks 5-4 this evening at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The teams tallied up a total of 134 penalty minutes and Chris Bourque had two goals.

Providence Point Streak Stopped at Eight Games — The Providence Bruins fell to the St. John’s IceCaps Sunday afternoon 4-0 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in the teams’ fourth and final match up of the season. It would be Providence’s first regulation loss since their last match up against St. John’s on November 24th.
