BostonBruins.com - There is no shortage of times that Christian Hanson has been asked about his dad Dave’s famous role as a Hanson brother in the hockey cult classic “Slap Shot.” But for the younger Hanson, the aura of the Hanson brothers has been a welcome byline attached to his name.

BostonBruins.com — New Bruins forward Christian Hanson has a unique hockey pedigree.
His father Dave, who played 33 games in the NHL for the Minnesota North Stars and Detroit Red Wings among many stops (including the New England Whalers) during a long professional career, gave his son a piece of advice as he got his start in hockey.
“If you’re not playing for the love of the game, you’re playing for the wrong reason,” said the elder Hanson.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has signed center Christian Hanson to a one-year, two-way contract through the 2012-13 season. Click here for the team’s official release.
